Brian Smith   Brian is a freelance Internet website deisgner. He has designed websites for several commercial bonsai organisations. Since 1997 he has spent much of his free time developing and maintaining The Bonsai Guide, which contains The Bonsai Photo Guide (where you are now), Bonsai in Europe and Bonsai in the Netherlands. He is an amateur bonsai enthousiast specialising in local varieties of deciduous trees. He is RingMaster of the Bunjin and Nejime Bonsai Rings and manages the dutch language Nederlandse Bonsai Forum. Since moving to La Palma (Canary Islands) he continues to actively support bonsai in the Netherlands and is turning his attention to providing information about bonsai in Spain. He was born in 1950 in England where he lived until he moved to Holland in 1982. In 1999 he moved again to La Palma, the fifth island in the Canary Islands. He has lived with his Dutch girlfriend, Els, since 1995. He is a member of the Dutch Bonsai Association (NBV Nederlandse Bonsai Vereniging). Brian writes an occasional article about Bonsai on Internet for a Dutch Bonsai Magazine. Brian is the creator of The Bonsai Guide. The Bonsai Guide
